Advertisements
Advertisements are a commonplace theme in White Noise. Their appearances within the novel help to better understand the consumer culture of America in the 1980s. The placement and the context of these advertisements in the daily lives of the Gladneys do not only serve to show the common presence of advertisements within their world but also how that presence has penetrated into their inner psyches. The following videos are all representative of the consumer culture at the time setting of White Noise.
